Dr. Paul-Elliott Cobbs

It has been an honor, privilege and pleasure to have been given the opportunity to serve as Music Director in Everett for numerous orchestras since 1981. The Everett Philharmonic Orchestra, however, represents the culmination of my body of work. Our past Executive Director, Dr. Loma Cobbs, was able to start this ensemble from its meager beginning and set it on a course to be the professional orchestra it has become today.

Please allow me to share with you what I have learned in my 51 years of professional conducting experience. It’s not about an organization being perfect, but rather it’s the pursuit of being the best we can possibly be. It’s about improvement…every rehearsal, every concert, every season.  It’s about personal growth and ensemble growth, doing things better than we have ever done them before. In our EPO family, everyone is an important part of the organization: audience, board, staff and musicians. In the end, it’s the lifetime of wonderful relationships that I will remember most!
